Passionate about creating a relationship between every horse and rider; A.C. instills an understanding that horses feel everything their rider's experience... even emotions which the rider may not even realize.

First Call Farm, small and intimate, is located just outside of Davidson, NC and overlooks adjacent farmland in all directions.  While A.C. welcomes the opportunity to train or teach for clients who “ship in” their horses, she fills her day riding horses on the farm and interacting with her boarders and their horses, helping them reach their own personal goals as well as attain success in the show ring.  

A.C.’s training applies Hunters, Hunter Seat Equitation and Jumper disciplines, focusing on correct equitation in the hunters as well as in the jumper divisions. When asked, “Do you teach dressage?” A.C. replies, “All good riding is based on a foundation of basic dressage”. A.C. places a  strong emphasis on communication with the horse through proper balance and accurate use of the rider’s natural aids.  Hours spent on flatwork ultimately produce  a lovely, fluid ride over fences in the hunters; and an accurate and  powerful ride in the jumpers occurring in a very timely fashion!
